Fun in the Jungle!

Hello!  Coming to you live from ONE STITCH AT A TIME!  It's a Butterfly or Buttons Challenge!  Yep, it's that time again.  This week our sponsor is.....STITCHY!  Yes, should you win, you get a voucher to the Stitchy Store; if you use one of our Stitchy Store images, you will win a fantastic Mega Collab by Stitchy's very own Panda Bear Designs!  Hop on over and take a look.  You'll love what you see and fall in love with our challenge, images and Design Team inspiration!

Here is Fun In The Jungle image by Stitchy's Lil Diva:

Not too much fun being caged up in a Circus Train!

Aren't the Hippo's sunglasses cool?  The eyes have Glossy Accents covering them so they pop out looking at you!  Image colored with Prisma pencils; chip board flourishes to make the cage with black ribbon bars.  I am very low on buttons so only button wheels and a red button at the top.  Some stars sent by my good buddy.  Since the theme said "Butterfly (singular) or Buttons," I did buttons and a dragonfly!

Sure hope you'll join us this week at ONE STITCH AT A TIME- such a fun theme and fab prizes!   Happy Sunday...and look for those bright spots please.  It's very gloomy here today but I am sure I'll find a bright spot somewhere.  Oh, here is one now!  I just got a sweet hello!  Yea!  Bye bye and see you soon!

Gnomie did it!

If you will please read the post just below this one, you'll find out why I am showing an image from Robyn's Fetish, the sponsor of our sister challenge, Fat Pages and Cards with AttitudeThe sponsor of ATC's this fortnight are Sassy Studios and Smeared Ink.  Both have such fantastic images!  Wow, 2 sponsors again and an Anything Goes theme.  Just love this challenge blog and love seeing the creations you make.  Without further ado, I'll get right down to business then tell you about the Copperheads!  Here is Gnomie Did It by Robyn's Fetish:

Birthday card for ummm, oh yes, our son, Joey!

Everything is colored with Prisma pencils and OMS.  The background is from Free Coloring Pages.  I just love Gnomie sitting on that robin.   We have so many robins in our yard.  Twisting there little heads as they listen for worms!  After coloring Gnomie, his feet and bottom were adhered then his upper body pop-dotted.  Framed with black card stock.  This was such a great image to work with and the way he is drawn, you could have him sitting on anything you can think of!

A quick note about the Copperheads-- last Sunday, I was bringing things in the garage where my craft stations is, garage door closed.  As I started to go through the door that goes into the house, our dog Ulee started a funny bark that caught my attention.  He barked, went around the other side of the car, and barked some more.  I didn't see anything.  As I started back outside, I glanced down and caught a glimpse of a snake head, not 3 feet from me!  I yelled "LARRY! There is a Copperhead in the garage!"  Took care of that one.  Ulee was the hero of the day.  Two days later, I am at my garage workstation.  I wake very early most days.  I heard a noise, looked but didn't see anything.  Then the dog food dish made a rustle, I looked again and lo and behold, another Copperhead! Again, not a yard stick away!  I scooted around him, off to wake Larry at 1:30 AM to get rid of another snake!  Poor guy.  Larry I mean.  Waking him from a sound sleep!  I look real well now when I step out into the garage from the house, that's for sure!

Now that you've heard my Copperhead story and viewed the image that really belongs on our other challenge, I'll sign off!  Two things I've written you lately- stomp your feet and look for bright spots.  Won't make sense unless you've read earlier posts.  Well, I wish you both, especially to have bright spots in your day.  Bye bye for now!

Hey everyone!

It's time for Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude!  Do you ever have an attitude?  Ugh!  I do right now!  I messed up again and posted my cards on the wrong DT blog, so the image of my card is from the sponsor of our sister challenge, ATC's and Cards with Attitude.  I better start paying attention.  But maybe you will go to both challenges and see what card really goes where!  Now that would be nice!  You could see my Teamie's projects too, make a card and join in on the fun!  Ahhh, now my attitude is much better!  Here is my Fat Pages card that is really my ATC card by Sassy Studios.  The sponsor this week for Fat Pages is Robyn's Fetish.  Fantastic images.  Here is my card, image by our ATC sponsor, Sassy Studios, Cinderella Honey:
 Tee Pee Card.

 For my little sister's birthday.
Castle in the clouds, with white tree die cut from my BFF.
 Lays flat for mailing.

Cinderella Honey is colored with Prisma pencil.  Her dress is painted over with a glitter and glue mix..  Drew a few pumpkins and leaves and covered a couple with Glossy Accents.  There is some Moss Green hemp in there from WOC, and some of it I sort of tore up and placed within the pumpkins. Also added a few WOC roses and a seam binding ribbon with a gold heart pin and rose center.  There is some lace in there too, and another die cut from my BFF, this time of flowers.  Colored up some butterflies and birds, covered them with Glossy Accents and placed them about. That tree and the flower border are the neatest dies to work with! I hope you like her!

Next post, the one from ATC's and Cards with Attitude, you'll see the Fat Pages image and I'll tell you about the Copperheads!

Bye for now!

Ally

Good Morning Friends!
It's that magical time again-- a new challenge at A & T Emerald Faeries!  I just love working with Emerald Faeries!  They really are fun images to color and make up into fantasy land creations. Hop over to the Challenge Blog and join us this challenge!  Use A Tag.  While you are there, you will be amazed by the other Emerald Fairy Girls!

Here is Ally with a message for you:

Tag out with my message to you:

Oh goodness, I felt like I went wild this go!  I just kept adding goodies and boy, it was fun!  Ally is colored with Prisma pencils.  Everything is pretty much a mishmash of basic card making-  created a pocket for the sentiment; used some pink hemp from WOC; added hearts to the antennae of the bugs; ribbon with rickrack adhered to the middle; pearl earrings and pearl dots on the ladybug and caterpillar, colored with markers.  Also put Glossy Accents on the drawn bird, bugs, and heart brads.   Oh, I had some DP I had been holding onto that when you punch out the paper a zigzag frame is left over, so I used that part of the paper and framed Ally's background and the sentiment.  Along with Ally, almost all of the images are from the A & T Shop- Ki Ki the Caterpillar, the Sentiment, and the small butterfly left over from another Emerald Fairy image.  Browse the Store- you are sure to enjoy yourself and get a yearning for a fairy of your own!

Ally up close!

We are still running Bingo for another week at the A & T Challenge so you could combine your creation to enter both!   Wouldn't you just love to win an image from our shop?  And we love seeing your artwork!

Thank you much to new followers and thank you to those who always make a point to stop by and leave such lovely comments.  I appreciate you very much.

Well, this Emerald Fairy is a little sleepy so she is going to crawl under a flower and nap for a wee bit.  Faeries get to do that, you know!  Yawn!  See you again soon, my Friends.

Autumn and the Brat

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young lady who just had to have her way.  Well, Daddy finally said NO!  She stomped her feet so hard that the trees began to die.  Brat was shocked and saddened by the way she behaved.   Suddenly, the leaves began to turn brilliant in color!  Red, gold, orange!  All Brat's favorite colors!  She ran to Daddy and told him how sorry she was for her selfishness.  Grabbing his hand, she led him out to look at the trees.  Brat cried to her father, "Daddy, I was so bad that I killed the trees but look what happened to them after I realized what a selfish Brat I am!"  The moral of the story- thanks to Brat, it's an Autumn Challenge #131 at One Stitch AT A Time!

Here is BRAT by Stitchy's wonderful Beary Dust Stamps-

Brat after she stomped her feet:
Beautiful and fun image to color.  Used Prisma pencils and a tad of OMS.  Brat was masked and then the trees and leaves were stamped as a background (unknown rubber stamps from my stash).  Framed her by cutting the leaves along the bottom, adhering pompoms along top and side, adhering to striped DP, then double layering with card stock.  Also added some roses from WOC, a double butterfly with Glossy Accents,  and that beautiful pin by Karen C.   I altered the pin a little by coloring some white pearls red using a marker and adding gold to the crystal beads.  Karen has a great selection of pins in her Etsy Shop.  They are so fun to add!  Along with the pin, that beautiful red die cut up in the right corner was a gift from her!

I guess this means you get to stomp your feet a little (or a lot!) and get in the mood to make an Autumn card and join us over at OSAAT!  While your there, check out the creations by OSAAT's talented Design Team.  And, we have Crimson Cloud as our sponsor PLUS a chance to win images in the Stitchy Store!

I'm going to go stomp my feet a little harder as our colors haven't changed yet.  Maybe I will get real creative too!  I'm going to try it!  Bye bye for now, Friends!  Happy Stomping!

Ooops Pin-up!

Me again!  Hello!
This time I'm writing you from ATC's and Cards with Attitude.  It's new challenge time again-Anything Goes/Buttons and Bows!  This fortnight our wonderful sponsors are LEJ Designs, Delicious Doodles and Just Some Lines.  Just Some Lines is a new one for us and they create fantastic images! Unfortunately, I don't have one to show you because I goofed up and did my card with one of September 21st sponsor images- Smeared Ink.  Oops!   Well, you get a special sneak preview, right?

In making this kind of card, I colored Killer Bo Peep with Prisma Pencils then sized a playing card image to fit, making 2 of the image.  One image I covered the 6 spades with a white filled text box so the spades wouldn't show.  (He was born on the 6th). To put together, I cut a piece of white card stock to fit between and sandwiched the pieces all together.  I wanted to round the corners and maybe distress the edges to make the playing card look old but I was afraid I would mess it up and didn't have time to remake the card base.  So on with the show I went- fussy cut  Killer and adhered her to the middle, added the bow, tag, and pin (by Karen) so it can slide off.  Karen makes the best pins!  From elegant to skulls!  She takes special orders, too.

My brother has a 50's style garage like you wouldn't believe!  A person could live in there!  LOL.  And he does collect old fashioned pin-ups that he hangs in his garage, so this playing card aught to give him a laugh.  I hope you like it.  I had trouble taking the pic but here you go...Killer Bo Peep-

Ohhhh, she is lovely!

Well, another fortnight and we will meet at ATC's and Fat Pages again!  Please leave me a note about any bright spots you have.  Would love to hear them.  Bye for now!

Lily

Hi there!
Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude new challenge time again!  Woohoo!!!  Such a fun challenge site with the best sponsors ever!  This fortnight our sponsors are Beccy's Place and Fresh Brewed Designs.  Both sponsors are fantastic and generous!  Come join us!  Our theme is Anything Goes/Buttons and Bows.  And we have Top 3 wins too!  Stop by and see what my teamies have created to inspire you.  And join us- we love seeing what you make and you just might be a winner!

My image is by Beccky's.  Her name is Lily of the Valley and is part of Beccy's birth month faeries.  Lily is for the month of May. But I think I read the flower has something to do with remembering loved ones too, so it is a good pick for this month!  Gosh, these month are whizzing by!

(Please forgive the picture quality.  I just could not get good pics this week after taking at least 50!)

Lily is colored with Prisma pencils surrounded by extra Lily flowers, some jeweled butterflies, cloth covered brads and bow, and a special heart, placed on dragonfly DP.  That's it!

OHHHHH, remember way back when I wrote you that I thought I was alergic to the glitter?  Well, it wasn't the glitter stabbing me with little pins!  It was chiggers!  Those little buggers are being blown about by the wind because of this drought we have been in.  Found them walking about on the white paper as I was coloring outside.  All of a sudden I started feeling little pins stabbing, saw the teeny critters and it clicked!  Now if I color outside I put on bug spray!  LOL!

Here is a close view of Lily:
   And the butterfly:

Well, until next time, I hope you don't get any chiggers!

Isabella

Hello there!
It's time for A & T Emerald Faeries new challenge- Use a Doily.   It was so much fun creating this card using A & T's image Isabella.  Isn't she a doll (fairy doll?)!

Almost all of the images are from the A & T or Emerald Faeries shop- roses, log, and Pip, who is the little guy up in the right corner.  The long stem roses are from an old stamp I have.  Oh and the little bird at the bottom, that is from my best buddy!  Such a cute little addition, eh?

Close up of Isabella.  The inside is matted like the front, adding a border of DP and a rose.
Making Isabella entailed mostly Prisma pencil coloring and cutting out the images. Adhered and pop-dotted on DP and matted 3 times with card stock.  Added a few drops of Glossy Accents for dew and on Gummy.  Paper pieced and added wire antenna to the butterfly.  The doily is from that same friend!  Thank you, friend!

Not much happening around here.  We are in a heat spell but are to cool off next week.  Wish I could keep it summer time!  I'm guessing one talks about the weather when things are pretty quiet.  Quiet doesn't make good conversation but it can be a good thing to have!  That means no noisy drama is going on at the moment.  But things change quickly around here so I'm waiting to hear the shoe drop!!!

Hope to see you at the A & T Emerald Faeries challenge this fortnight!  We also run the A & T  Challenge alternate fortnights.   Sometimes the theme is a great sketch, or bingo, or some other fun theme to delight you!  Check out both these challenges, you'll be wowed by the Emerald Faeries DT Girls!  Enter and you can win from the A & T fantastic stores!  Sure hope to see your creations!

That's it from this Emerald Fairy Girl.  Hoping you have a quiet week!
